Here are some of the photos from our trip to Malawi.

Hippos (including a baby) feeding in the late afternoon.
They spend the day in the Shire River, and then come
out in the evening to feed.  They return to the river in the morning
- you don't want to get between them and the water at that point in time, or look out!






We came around a corner and this is what we saw.  There are various kinds of animals feeding; after all it is dinner time.  I still see this image when I think about the trip because it looked so African to me.  The picture doesn't do the scene justice.  Shortly after this was taken, we stopped to have our "sundowners", that is a drink that precedes dinner.  We stood on the edge of the river, watching the sun setting and it was magical.
